Midwest Cheer Elite, Inc opened it’s doors in January of 2003 with the mindset that we could offer something more in the All-star Cheerleading industry. More in the way of value, technique, building athletes confidence and offering a family type feel to a competitive sport.

Fall Schedule – The Days/Times You See Below Start August 19.

Basic

This class is designed for the athlete that is just beginning their tumbling career. Athletes will focus on creating a strong tumbling foundation while learning basic tumbling skills such as forward rolls, hand stands, cartwheels and bridges to prepare for Advanced Basic.

This class is the next step to mastering basic skills. Athletes will continue to fine tune their basic skills while advancing to front and back walkovers and combination skills to prepare for BHS 101

Back Handsprings

This class is an introduction to back handsprings. Athletes will work on the fundamentals of a back handspring; including drills, strength training and building confidence to throw a back handspring on multiple surfaces.

Wednesday: 7-8 pm

This class is the next step on the way to mastering a back handspring. Athletes will focus on generating more strength and power through their back handsprings while combining skills with their handspring.

This class is the final step to mastering the handspring and connecting skills. Athletes will focus on a series of skills, owning their handspring, fine-tuning technique and generating power to prepare for Beginner Tuck.

Tuck

This class is an introduction to tucks. Athletes will focus on tuck shapes, bounding for tucks and mastering body control to safely execute a running tuck and a punch front on multiple surfaces.

This class is the next step on the way to mastering the tuck. Athletes will focus on building confidence in their skills as well as combining skills through to a running tuck.

Tuesday: 5-6 pm

This class introduces tumbling through to a tuck from a standing position as well as working toward owning the running tuck. Athletes will continue to build strength and core to increase height of tuck and prepare athletes for beginner layout.

Layout

This class is an introduction to the layout position. Athletes will learn the correct arm placement, body shape, set and form to throw a layout. Athletes will also work on standing tucks and tumbling out of a punch front.

This class is the next step to mastering the layout. Athletes will continue to work on strength and control to throw beautiful layouts as well as introducing specialty connecting skills.

Wednesday: 5-6 pm

This class is designed for athletes to own the layout. Athletes will continue to fine-tune the technique as well as add specialty tumbling through to a layout and front tumbling skills through to layout to prepare for twister’s class.

Twisters

This class is designed to teach the mechanics of a single twisting full.

Monday: 6-7 pm

This class is the next step on the way to becoming a master twister. Athletes will begin to add specialty skills to the full and introduce the double full and standing full.

Tuesday: 5-6 pm

This class is for the athlete that has mastered the full and is working toward mastering specialty to full, the double full and specialty skills through to a double full.

Wednesday: 5-6 pm

Flight School

This class is designed for athletes that are new to flex or those that are looking for a beginner stretch class. Athletes will learn flexibility as well as body control.

This class is for athletes that have good flexibility but are looking to push their skills further. Concentration will be on needles, over stretches and kick scorpions.

Whether you are currently a flyer looking to improve/ learn new skills or working to become a flyer, this class is for you. Split up in to a Level ½ or Level ¾ class, you will learn beginner through advanced skills in a progression format.

Jump until you cannot jump anymore! You will be introduced to drills that will increase your hip flexibility and learning to roll your hips as well as working on technique and motion placement. All the tricks of the trade to mastering that hyperextended jump!

Aerials

All classes are currently open to ages 5-18 unless specified otherwise.

This class is all about being flexible and strong. Students spend 30 min stretching and 30 min conditioning their bodies to improve their aerial skills. Open to all levels.

Monday: 7-8 pm

Partners and poses!! In this class students learn to fly and base acro stunts. Fun while gaining strength and flexibility. Open to all levels.

Kids: 7-8pm (Wednesday)

This class is for our hoop lovers. Students learn to mount, spin, and perform poses in the hoop. Open to all levels.

Thursday: 5-6 pm

This class is designed for the absolute beginner. Students learn core control, balance, and how to maneuver their bodies within the tied silks.

Monday: 5-6 pm

Students begin learning to stand on their own, strengthen their upper body, and create shapes with the free hanging silks.

Students who have mastered climbs and shapes will now begin piecing them together. Beginner drops will be taught.

Preschool Tumbling

45min classes ($105) per 8-week session

This 45-minute class focuses strengthening your child’s independence by being on their own in class! Your child will learn how to stay with the group, begin following directions and learning new tumbling skills. The different physical activities such as jumping, walking on the beam, and mastering body positions, will engage their imagination while developing gross motor coordination, strength and early tumbling skills. Children in this class will begin to learn forward rolls, supported handstands, cartwheel preps, donkey kicks, and table top bridges!

This 45-minute class will continue to focus on the gross motor development (spatial awareness, coordination, strength, and body control) while adding more early tumbling skills. Our Little Bears will begin to follow multi-step directions independently adding up to increased skill development! Children in this class will begin to learn straddle forward rolls, handstands independently, round offs, backward rolls, tuck jumps and hoping on one foot!

Mat Rental

We offer Spring Floor rentals as well as Marley Dance Floor rental. The cost is a flat $30 per hour regardless of team size, per floor.

Team Tumbling

Team Tumbling is a great tool for school and rec teams. You pick the day and time, bring your team out to our facility and we provide the instruction! Cost is $105 per athlete with a minimum of 5 athletes and the registration fee is waived!
